A different vantage point on every project

I'm an FAA Part 107 certified commercial drone pilot, licensed and insured. Drone work is where I started: I was recording and editing aerial video long before I picked up a camera for stills. Today I offer aerial photography and video as part of my architectural coverage or as a standalone service.

What aerial coverage shows

Aerials show what ground-level photos can't: how a building sits on its site, how close it is to the water, highways or downtown, and the full scale of a campus or construction project. For Olde Mystic Village, that meant showing the property's position next to Interstate 95, the Mystic River and Mystic Aquarium. For The Beam in New London, it meant showing the building's proximity to downtown, the Thames River and Electric Boat.

Stills, video or both

Every aerial job can include still photos, video or both. You can book aerials on their own, or combine them with ground-level architectural photography and videography for complete coverage of a project.

Airspace and safety

Parts of the shoreline around New London sit in controlled airspace near Groton-New London Airport. I handle FAA airspace authorization, check weather and site conditions before every flight, and coordinate with the people on site so the shoot doesn't interfere with work on the ground.

Common questions

Can you fly in any weather?

No. I watch the forecast closely and reschedule if wind or rain would compromise the images or the flight.

Can I book aerial work on its own?

Yes. Aerials are available as a standalone service, from a single property overview to documenting a construction site over time.

Do you shoot aerial video as well as stills?

Yes. I've filmed aerial video for projects like The Beam and South Fork Wind Farm.
